C. Athena Roussos is committed to providing high quality legal services to her clients at reasonable rates. She is a certified specialist in Appellate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Athena is experienced in handling a broad range of civil matters in both state and federal courts. In addition, she has handled numerous appeals and writs, and her work has resulted in many published cases in favor of her clients.

CIVIL APPEALS & WRITS

Athena’s practice has been focused on handling civil appeals and writs for most of her career. She has handled dozens of cases in appellate courts throughout California, including in the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court. Athena is well qualified to handle all aspects of civil appeals and writs in the state and federal courts.

Additionally, Athena offers consultation services at all stages of litigation, including during the trial court proceedings, after the judgment has been entered, after an appeal has already been filed, or even after the appellate court has rendered a decision. Athena often works with trial attorneys to make sure that all necessary steps are taken to maximize a client’s chances on appeal. She also provides evaluation services to help clients determine whether to file an appeal or whether to continue with an existing appeal.

Athena is also experienced with writ proceedings both at the trial court level and the appellate court level.

LITIGATION & LITIGATION SUPPORT SERVICES

Athena handles civil litigation cases on a limited basis. She also provides litigation support services for trial attorneys. She can assist with in-depth legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, attending hearings, and general trial preparation. Athena is particularly experienced in handling post-trial matters, such as requests for statement of decisions, motions for new trial, JNOV motions, and attorney fee motions.

OTHER SERVICES

Athena provides other various legal services, such as reviewing and preparing contracts or other legal documents, drafting legal correspondence including demand letters, providing advice regarding disputes or litigation matters, and other general advice to individuals and businesses. Athena provides these services on a limited basis.
